Our WoNs are handcrafted for you by sewing workshops in Europe that we know personally—and at a very fair hourly wage. We produce our fabrics in Portugal, a hub of fair fashion, as well as in Turkey. We’re in daily contact with our factories. This clearly sets us apart from the common practice in the fast fashion industry of manufacturing in China under conditions of exploitation.
We develop our products ourselves from scratch—including the yarn, design, and pattern—so we do NOT buy from wholesalers, and you can only find our products at our store. We also avoid harmful substances such as polyester and rely on certified natural materials. So not just natural materials, but organic materials. It's a difference you can smell and feel. Wraps of Nature is a pioneer in sustainable fashion and launched the world's first organic headscarf in July 2024.
Conventional fast fashion on the market is only so inexpensive because it’s produced in China under exploitative conditions and purchased cheaply from wholesalers. Wraps of Nature, on the other hand, features its own designs and is manufactured in Europe with fair hourly wages. By shopping at Wraps of Nature, you’re supporting a fair and socially just value chain made in Europe. Why polyester is not an option for us
Polyester is plastic. And plastic loses microplastics – when worn, washed, breathed. These particles end up in the environment, in our food, and now even in the human body. Microplastics have now been detected in the brain, the placenta, and even in breast milk. Added to this are chemical treatments with substances such as formaldehyde and PFAS ("forever chemicals"), which accumulate and are associated with health risks.
We believe thatplastic has no place on the skin or in the environment.
