For a long time, I searched for the perfect hijab . I wanted something that not only looked beautiful but also embodied all the values that are close to my heart. Sustainability, functionality, and social justice—these were the things I felt were missing in my search. Time and again, I asked myself: If the hijab is an expression of my beliefs, why should I wear something on my head that was produced through the exploitation of people and the environment? Why shouldn’t it reflect the purity, gratitude, and awareness that I want to express through my choice of hijab?
