I have been a hijabi for over eight years now, and I have been looking for the perfect hijab since day one. No matter where I looked - in stores and online stores - nothing matched my expectations. The production conditions were also unclear. Under no circumstances did I want to support social exploitation! None of this corresponded to my idea of slow fashion and sustainability.
For a long time, I thought about starting my own company, but people told me that there was no interest in sustainable products and that nobody would buy from me. My biggest mistake was to listen to these people. Just think how much plastic waste and how many frustrating hijab purchases we could have avoided if I had started my business eight years ago.
However, as a devout Muslim woman, I know that everything comes at the right time and that Allah always has the perfect plan for you. So it's only now, eight years later, that I'm opening my own hijab brand, and that's perfectly fine. I know that now is exactly the right time.
